Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) applies to all the equipment related to conditioning spaces, including furnaces, ducts, chillers, air conditioners, fans, thermostats, boilers, heat pumps, roof top units, insulation, and other less common equipment.  This equipment can be thought of as the engine for your building, and as such, requires constant maintenance to ensure a long healthy life.  However, it is common for this equipment to be neglected or even in some cases to be non-functional.  The opportunity for increased efficiencies is almost guaranteed and can range from a simple equipment tune up to a major capital improvement. Common efficiency measures include adding insulation, sealing leaks, cleaning ducts, cleaning coils, furnace tune ups, changing thermostat setpoints, right sizing equipment, and major renovations.  Utility incentives and government programs are available to reduce the cost of implementing HVAC improvements to improve the bottom line for these measures.
