Demand-Side Energy Management
Demand Side Energy Management (DSEM) is at the core of Site Based Energy’s goal of saving money for facilities. DSEM is the optimization of consumer demand for energy through various methods such as use modification and education. The goal of DSEM is to encourage the facility/occupants to use less energy during peak hours when it is more expensive, or to move the time of energy use to off-peak times. DSEM measures may not reduce the total amount of energy consumption, rather they may reduce the costs of energy and the investments in energy infrastructure. DSEM affects both sides of the utility meter and creates incentives for energy users and suppliers alike.
